Online the interview: ‘Feldenkrais Method and psychology: an interview with Dr. Susanne Herzog’.

On Tuesday, 3 December 2024, the second German national webinar dedicated to Feldenkrais practitioners on the role the Feldenkrais Method can play in an integrated approach to health and personal care took place.

The meeting, which was the second in a series, focused on the possible application of the Feldenkrais Method in psychological/psychosomatic contexts.

One of the main objectives of the Feldenkrais4Life project, in fact, is to help establish the Feldenkrais® Method within the European professional systems, following a broad vision of health as defined by the World Health Organisation (WHO), which includes the physical, mental and social well-being of the person.

The interview conducted is by Andrea Melita Thiem (AIIMF delegate to the EuroTab Council) and Elisabetta Abate (German Feldenkrais Association) with Dr. Susanne Herzog (Dr phil. Dipl.-Psych.).

The interview is in German and subtitles in English, French and Italian can be selected from the options.

The topics the interview will focus on are: What role could the Feldenkrais Method play in a multi-professional/multidisciplinary context in psychotherapy?

What kind of relational dynamics should a Feldenkrais teacher be able to deal with?

Where can we recognise parallels and differences in the approach during a psychotherapy lesson and a Feldenkrais lesson?

The course will conclude with a third international webinar in English also open to a wider audience: members of institutions, professionals in related fields, potential new trainees in Feldenkrais training courses.
